SO… WHO IS LOKI?
There are so many versions and variations of this Norse god, which when you think about it is actually quite fitting of his shapeshifting abilities. He’s got his own series and is taking over the Marvel Universe by storm. But his hero-fied aesthetic is just one of the many versions that the god of mischief has.
As it’s April Fool’s Day, we thought we’d take a look at how Loki fits into our Play’n GO universe. Keep reading to find out more.
IS LOKI EVIL?
We’ve always liked Loki. We mean sure, he’s always up to some sort of mischief, but is he really a bad guy?
He just seems like a bit of a prankster, always causing trouble for the other Norse mythology gods. In mythology, he’s often seen as the bad guy. But really, is he really that bad? We mean, sure, he tried to take the throne of Asgard for himself in Tales of Asgard: Loki’s Fortune. And he did make a nuisance of himself at banquets, drinking all the mead.
He strikes us more as the younger sibling who will do anything for a little attention.
To sum up, no he isn’t evil. He’s just a bit… annoying.
ARE THOR AND LOKI BROTHERS?
Well, they bicker like thunder and lightning, but are these Norse Gods actually brothers?
Norse mythology says that Thor is indeed the son of Odin but Loki was simply a companion of theirs. He would join them on adventures and conquests to defend or save Asgard from their enemies. Loki would often have a cunning plan in mind. But unfortunately, his plans would cause embarrassment more than success!
In the Play’n GO World, Thor, Loki and Freya are siblings with dynamic a relationship that sees them sparring one minute and conspiring the next.
WHERE CAN I FIND LOKI AT PLAY’N GO?
There are two games where you can find the trickster god in our Norse Mythology series.
Take a look.
TALES OF ASGARD: LOKI’S FORTUNE
As the title character in this epic grid slot, Loki is on a mission.
He thinks the throne of Asgard is rightfully his, so why not just take it?
We have a feeling that Thor and Odin might have something to say on the matter.
TALES OF ASGARD: FREYA'S WEDDING
Thrym, better known as the mighty Ice King of Jotunheim, has stolen Mjölnir.
You may think this is for the power that Mjölnir carried with it, but in fact, Thyrm
has more romantic notions in mind. In exchange for its return, he demands Freya’s hand in marriage.
But Freya has other ideas. She summons her brothers to come up with a cunning plan to not only keep her single status but also retrieve the hammer from the Ice King.
Of course, you can count on Loki the God of Mischief to have a trick up his sleeve. He suggests that Thor is to disguise himself as Freya and enter Thyrm’s kingdom. None of his minions would bat an eyelid! This will give him the chance to steal the hammer and sneak back out.
Sounds easy, right?
