Slot suppliers Play’n GO revamped the cascading grid slot theme with their newest Title Contact, released today.
Play’n GO are known specialists in the mobile gaming market, and they’ve proven it once again by optimising the game to play just as well in portrait mode as it does in the more traditional landscape mode. It is also the very first Play’n GO slot to be created fully in 3D, with an angled camera view to give the game a new visual feel.
The company spoke on how the 3D element adds to the game’s appeal:
“As the first fully 3D grid slot, Contact provides a truly immersive visual experience, to match the innovative gameplay. The 3D visuals allow us to be very creative with camera angles which gives this game an epic feel and provides a new dimension to a player’s session not yet explored in our titles!”
Having already pioneered cascading grid slot games in the market, an innovation that has proven very successful for the company with titles such as Sweet Alchemy and Gemix, Play’n GO have updated the format to provide a new twist. Whereas most cascading grid slots remove winning clusters to allow new clusters to be made, Contact keeps winning clusters on the grid and removes all other symbols, allowing for clusters to be increased in size, in addition to the chance of new clusters being created.
The game is based around ancient Mayan culture, and the detailed style of the artwork reflects this. As with previous Play’n GO games such as Viking Runecraft plenty of research has gone into making sure that the design style is exact, to make the experience as immersive as possible for the players. Symbols are based on designs of Mayan mask work and also Mayan depictions of animals like snakes, monkeys and falcons.
The game is sure to appeal broadly across the market, with its highly volatile mechanics creating an exciting, engaging experience for its players. Contact is the grid slot with a difference!
