Play'n GO Returner Stories - Lili Berki

Read the second of our Returner Stories, in which we hear from Lili Berki, a Manual QA Engineer from Hungary. They returned to Play'n GO after "being lured away by a competitor"! Find out what led them to find their way back to Play'n GO here...

When you decided to leave Play'n GO previously, what was the motivator behind that decision?

I was lured away by one of our competitors from the iGaming industry. I left because I was offered a much higher salary, and an ex-colleague, whom I like very much and look up to professionally contacted me regarding this opportunity.

When you were at your new place, did you compare all or certain elements to your previous experience with Play'n GO?

Of course! All the elements. You see, to me Play'n GO is the standard workplace. And, since I moved within the industry, even the product was very similar. So, every moment I was thinking to myself, we do it like this. This was one of many reasons why I came back. Because I couldn't move on from being part of the Play'n GO family.

Did you actively seek an opportunity to return to Play'n GO, or were you contacted by someone about a potential opportunity?

Kinda yes. I realized quite soon I feel homesick for Play'n GO. I didn't like the company I left for. And I knew I wanted to leave it. And when I started to think about where to go, I couldn't shake the feeling to come back. I stayed in touch with my previous immediate colleagues. And as soon as I heard there were open positions, I knew I had to try to come back.

How does it feel being back at Play'n GO?

I know it sounds cheesy, but it felt like coming home from a trip gone wrong. I returned 10 months ago, and it has just flown by, in the best way possible. I am surrounded by colleagues who I really like personality-wise, and admire professionally. To me Play'n GO is the dream job. I never once regret coming back. I only regret leaving.

There is a funny thing. With Play'n GO merch I am always walking around proudly in public. Feel like, yeah, that is the company I am working for. My company. And it felt off while I was away, that I still wanted to walk around the beach with my Play'n GO towel, and I was still wearing the Play'n GO sweatshirt. And I felt yes, that is where I belong. It is really great to be able to do it while being back here again.

Does it feel like things have changed since you were previously at Play'n GO?

Some things changed, some things did not. Overall, it feels like the same when I think about my day-to-day life here. I can sense the upscale, but I still feel very good here.

What are the main things that make you happy in your role at Play'n GO?

Many things! The people, the company culture, the benefits. The opportunity to grow. The opportunity to share my ideas and feedback regarding our processes. I feel my voice matters. I love my profession. QA is my passion. And I really adore our product. I enjoy the everyday challenges. My job is never boring. And as a manual QA engineer that is rare! Every game is somehow different and new. And we are constantly changing and evolving. So, I feel challenged, yet steady, in a perfect mixture.
